Role: Associate Asset Management Lawyer (3-5 PQE)

Location: Leeds (preferred), Manchester (preferred), Edinburugh, Glasgow (Hybrid - 3 days in office)

Seeking a mid-level (3-5 years PQE) solicitor with expertise in property asset management to join an established team in a top 20 international law firm. This role is ideal for a candidate who excels in managing a busy asset management portfolio independently but is also eager to collaborate with a dedicated client service team. The successful candidate will work alongside colleagues in property and build strong relationships with the client’s in-house legal, estates, and operational teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate asset management documents, including leases, licenses, variations, surrenders, extensions, consents, and related agreements.
  • Handle lease grants, renewals, assignments, terminations, and other transactions, ensuring timely service and adherence to client standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulations and codes of practice related to the client’s portfolio.
  • Collaborate with in-house legal, estates, and operational teams to deliver a seamless service.
  • Manage client relationships effectively, providing clear, concise advice on legal and commercial strategies relevant to the client’s portfolio.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Lawyer with 3-5 years’ PQE, preferably gained within a busy asset management team.
  • Strong technical expertise in asset management, with experience in lease negotiations, renewals, surrenders, and other asset management matters.
  • Knowledge of the food & beverage sector is advantageous.
  • Understanding of commercial issues relevant to asset management.
  • Interest in utilising legal technology solutions to enhance client service.
  • Strong commercial awareness and a solid understanding of industry trends and risk management.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information to diverse stakeholders.
