A prestigious law firm is seeking a Commercial Real Estate Associate (2-4 PQE) to join its thriving Real Estate department in London. The Real Estate department has been structured to meet the needs of ambitious dealmakers, making it one of London’s largest and most complete property teams. The practice spans key areas such as construction, development and urban regeneration, fashion and retail, investment, planning and environment, residential, dispute resolution, finance, and taxation.

The team is at the forefront of industry discussions on regulation and technological change, leveraging proptech tools like automation, AI, and structured databases to work efficiently and drive opportunities for clients. By combining legal expertise with strategic market insights and a global network of investors and stakeholders, the firm consistently delivers practical, commercial solutions that facilitate successful transactions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advising on a broad range of commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions and disposals of investment properties.
  • Drafting and negotiating lease agreements on behalf of both landlords and tenants.
  • Assisting on department-wide transactions, including preparing certificates and reports.
  • Conducting due diligence and drafting transaction documentation.
  • Handling complex development transactions, including site assembly documentation, leases, and ancillary development agreements.
  • Maintaining high standards of client service and ensuring regular updates on progress and costs.
  • Developing and strengthening relationships with clients and industry contacts.
  • Contributing to the firm’s business development and marketing efforts.

Candidate Requirements

  • 2-4 years PQE in commercial real estate, gained at a reputable law firm.
  • Strong academic record with excellent technical knowledge and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly.
  • Experience in drafting and negotiating a variety of real estate transaction documents.
  • Commercially minded, proactive, and interested in business development.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple matters effectively.
  • Confident and personable, able to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Ability to remain calm and resilient under pressure.
