Senior Risk Lawyer

My client, a global law firm, is actively recruiting for a Qualified Lawyer to join them on a permanent basis in their London office – working as their new Senior Risk Lawyer.
The Risk & Compliance department work very closely with the firms’ General Counsel and PI Partner – as well as other specialist areas, including Sanctions and Data Protection. You’ll be supporting the current Risk & Compliance Partner and COLP in relation to all aspects of their roles on a global scale.
As the successful Senior Risk Lawyer, you’ll be responsible for (but not limited to) the following:
- Assisting the Partner and COLP with daily queries regarding the SRA Code, Standards, Financial Crime and Ethics
- Analysing conflict reports and advising on complex conflicts issues
- Regularly updating the Professional Standards Manual and Partners’ Guide
- Reviewing Data Protection policies and procedures (on at least an annual basis)
- Drafting policies and procedures in line with changes in the regulatory law in any of the firms’ jurisdictions
- Amending and writing Terms of Engagement with clients

To be considered for this Senior Risk Lawyer opportunity, you’ll need to have/be the following:
- Be a Qualified Lawyer (England & Wales), with a minimum of 5 years’ PQE
- Have a minimum of 3 years within legal compliance (ideally from an international law firm)
- Have detailed knowledge of the SRA Handbook (especially the Code of Conduct)
- Have up-to-date knowledge of relevant areas of law (ideally contract and tort)
- Have knowledge of the following:
- AML/Financial Crime
- Sanctions
- Data Protection
- Be able to commute to the London office a minimum of 3 days a week
