My client, a top off-shore law firm, is actively recruiting for a Qualified Lawyer to join them on a permanent basis in their Jersey office – working as their new Senior Legal Counsel within Governance.
This a new position at the firm and they’re looking for someone to assist the Chief Legal Officer with legal advice and governance support to various partnerships and clients.
As the successful Senior Legal Counsel, you’ll be responsible for (but not limited to) the following:
- Acting as the lead governance representative within the firms’ in-house legal team
- Providing in-house advice and support, including liaising with external Counsel in regards to specific governance projects
- Providing support during the annual audits
- Advising Partners and senior management on requirements
- Organising and attending meeting for all in-house boards and committees
- Assisting with the implementation of enhanced internal governance framework

To be considered for this Senior Legal Counsel opportunity, you’ll need to have/be the following:
- Be a Qualified Lawyer (England & Wales, Scotland, Jersey or Guernsey)
- Have a Governance or Risk & Compliance background (ideally, In-House)
- Have a practical understanding of Corporate law
- Be able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Be able to commute to their Jersey office
