My client, a globally recognised law firm, is actively seeking an experienced and professional Conflicts/Risk & Compliance Lawyer (or Counsel) to join them on a permanent basis in either Manchester, Leeds or Liverpool – working as their Senior Legal Counsel.
This is a firm that operates in over 40 countries throughout the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific. Their clients range from multinational, Global 1000, and Fortune 500 enterprises to emerging companies developing industry-leading technologies, as well as government and public sector bodies.
This Senior Legal Counsel will work in partnership with the Executives, Partners, CMPs and OMPs in identifying and understanding legal, risk and compliance developments and issues. You’ll be a trusted advisor, deliver a responsive and efficient service – providing advice on legal and regulatory issues, specialising on conflicts management.
As the successful Senior Legal Counsel, you’ll be responsible for (but not limited to) the following:
- Working closely with the Business Intake Team to ensure compliance with the firm’s conflicts policies and procedures
- Providing technical legal advice and support the Partners and Fee-Earners on complex conflicts and confidential information
- Understanding and identifying wider risk and reputational business intake criteria
- Reviewing and advising on conflicts issues
- Leading on internal investigations relating to conflicts
- Working closely with the conflicts team to review existing processes and implement enhancements
- Delivering training / shadowing to the conflicts team

To be considered for this Senior Legal Counsel position, you’ll need to have/be the following:
- Be a Qualified Lawyer (England & Wales)
- Be a minimum of 5 years’ experience within legal conflicts
- Have the ability to build and maintain relationships
- Have commercial acumen and analytical skills
- Be able to commute to either the Manchester, Leeds or Liverpool office (hybrid working)
