My client, a top UK law firm, is actively recruiting for an experienced Risk & Compliance professional to join them on an initial THREE MONTH FTC - working as their Senior Risk & Compliance Officer in London.
This role will sit within the London Risk & Compliance team which consists of the Head of Compliance, Risk & Compliance Manager, Risk & Compliance Lawyer, Compliance Officer and Junior Compliance Officer. It is a team full of experience! You'll work closely with the team to assist in the management of client and matter onboarding processes and ensure the firm complies with relevant legislations.
As the successful Officer, you'll be responsible for:
- Liaising with fee-earners to ensure outstanding information for onboarding are completed (AML checks, risk assessments, conflict checks, etc)
- Answering AML queries and escalating to the MLCO and MLRO (when required)
- Conducting screening and dealing with ongoing monitoring of EDD clients updating/maintaining central registers (sanctions, PEPs, adverse media)
- Supporting the team with other Risk & Compliance projects
- Carrying out administrative duties when required

To be considered, you'll need to have/be the following:
- Be available immediately (maximum of one week notice)
- Have previous/existing LAW FIRM Risk & Compliance experience
- Be degree educated
- Have prior experience in dealing with regulatory queries
- Be able to commute to the London office
