My client, a leading offshore law firm, is actively recruiting for an experienced Risk & Compliance professional to join them on a permanent basis in their Guernsey office – working as their new Head of Guernsey Compliance & MLRO.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Head of Compliance to join their global Risk & Compliance team. You’ll be the primary compliance lead for the Guernsey based businesses and play a critical role in fostering a compliance culture, acting as the registered MLCO and MLRO and also managing financial crime risks.
You’ll be developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, overseeing regulatory reporting and providing strategic compliance guidance within the firm.
As the successful Head of Compliance & MLRO, you’ll be responsible for (but not limited to) the following:
- Overseeing compliance for the law firm and regulated entities
- Leading the execution and enhancement of the Compliance Program in Guernsey
- Providing compliance advisory support on business and client risks
- Delivering compliance training
- Conducting regulatory horizon scanning and identifying changed in legal and regulatory requirements
- Acting as the MLCO and MLRO, managing financial crime risks and suspicious activity

To be considered for this new opportunity, you’ll need to have/be the following:
- Have previous experience holding or deputising MLRO/MLCO roles, with a strong knowledge/understanding of financial crime
- Have a detailed understanding of Guernsey’s legal and regulatory framework
- Be confident in presenting to senior stakeholders
- Be skilled in horizon scanning and compliance monitoring
- Have demonstratable experience in a SENIOR compliance, risk, or operational control position
