My client is a growing international law firm specializing in litigation and dispute resolution, particularly in the insurance, reinsurance, and liability areas. They have offices spanning the globe and over 1000 employees, with headquarters in the City of London and several other offices in the UK.
They are now looking for a Assistant Partnership Tax Manager to join their London office.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the completion of all tax compliance obligations in the UK and internationally including income and corporation tax computations and returns, tax provisioning, VAT, tax relief claims and tax payments
- Liaise with relevant tax authorities in relation to partner and entity taxes
- Assist with the preparation and calculations of tax payments
- Assist/review partners' tax reserves, including DTR and equalisation
- Support the firm's cash flow forecasting related to tax payments.
- Provide pension planning calculations to partners
- Provide key financial planning calculations to partners, including IHT and CGT
- Review annual PAYE Settlement Agreement
- Review annual tax and statutory compliance deadlines with other tax advisors/accountants to maintain an accurate compliance calendar
- Serve as a key contact for HMRC, partners, external tax advisors, and partners’ accountants on tax matters
- To oversee and manage the work of other team members, in particular at Tax Assistant level
- Liaise with our offshore in house finance teams and external accountants when assisting with the preparation of UK and international Tax compliance
- Involvement in transfer pricing and other taxation policies in the Firm
- Request certificates of tax residence
- Keep up to date with any changes in tax legislation
Candidate Profile
- Professional qualification in Commerce or Finance (ACA/CIMA preferred). Equivalent relevant qualifications and candidates with less than five years will be considered providing they can demonstrate the required competencies to carry out the role effectively
- A background within Professional Services (legal sector) would be preferable
- Strong MS Office skills
- International experience with a large multi group practice is desirable but not essential
